Mawu covers the vast majority of wp-admin, but a few real gaps remain, stated plainly here rather than left for you to discover. None of these are hidden behind a paywall; they’re just not built yet.
One small gap in the media popup
The media library popups are dark: the “Add Media” and featured-image chooser, the Attachment Details view, and the Media Library grid itself. One detail still shows WordPress’s default look. While nothing is selected, the chooser’s “Insert into post” button is disabled and keeps its light grey style. It switches to your theme’s color as soon as you pick an item.
No RTL stylesheet yet
The hand-painted admin bar and menu colors don’t currently have a dedicated right-to-left stylesheet. Sites using an RTL language may see layout issues specific to that direction in those two areas.
Some theme panels in the Customizer
The Customizer’s panel shell and every section title are dark. On some complex themes with many custom panels, content deep inside the theme’s own panels can stay light until you hover over it, at which point it recolors. The cause isn’t fully pinned down yet.
Multisite network admin hasn’t been audited
The recoloring engine works generically across wp-admin, including other plugins’ own screens, rather than relying on a hand-picked list. The common screens, the editors, and the legacy Widgets screen have each been checked one by one. Multisite network-admin screens haven’t been checked individually yet, so they’re the most likely place to find a rough edge.
No frontend dark mode
This one is a deliberate scope decision, not an oversight. See does Mawu affect my site’s visitors? for the full explanation.
