A plain-language explanation of what Ariadne Related Posts does and who it’s for, before you install anything.
Ariadne is a WordPress plugin that shows readers a list of related posts under (or inside) your articles, without you having to tag anything by hand. You install it, and it starts building related-post lists for your existing content automatically.
What problem it actually solves
Most “related posts” features on WordPress fall into one of two camps: they show whatever else is in the same category, which is often too broad to be genuinely useful, or they require you to manually curate a list for every post, which doesn’t scale past a few dozen articles.
Ariadne instead looks at what your content actually has in common — shared tags, shared categories, overlapping words in the titles, and how similar the writing itself is — and combines all of that into one ranked list per post. No manual tagging marathon, and no need to trust a black-box result either: every match is scored, and you can see exactly why a post was suggested.
How it’s different from a typical plugin in this space
- It’s not scored when someone visits your site. Related lists are computed once, when you save a post, then cached. Viewing a page is just a normal read, the same cost as loading any other part of that post — see does this slow down my site?
- It combines four signals, not one. Tag overlap, category overlap, title similarity, and body similarity all contribute, with adjustable weights if the defaults don’t fit your site — see how matching works.
- It optionally understands meaning, not just shared words. With AI-powered matching turned on, two posts about the same topic written with completely different vocabulary can still match. This part is a Pro feature — see do you need an AI API key?
Who it’s for
Ariadne works for any content-heavy WordPress site: blogs, news and magazine sites, and (with a Pro plan) WooCommerce stores that want to suggest related products alongside related articles. It’s built to be safe on both a brand-new site with a handful of posts and a large site with years of archives and heavy traffic.
The free version is a complete, no-catch related-posts engine on its own — tag, category, and title matching, plus local text-similarity scoring, with the full block/shortcode/widget placement options and the plugin’s clean default design. Pro and Pro+ add AI-powered matching, full style control, manual pinning, and a handful of features aimed at larger or agency-run sites. See the full plan comparison.
